The latest website in our family is called Federal Reserve News, and it represents yet another branch in our overall tree of social networking opportunities. The site is being organized primarily to create a new, collaborative online book (a wiki) that can explain in simple terms how the Fed works and what its exact impact is on the banking and money system here in the U.S.
Just as Wikipedia uses collaborative efforts to create and maintain the hundreds of thousands entries in their free, online encyclopedia, so also The Federal Reserve Simplified is intended to perform the same role in helping people understand that murkiest of American institutions.
This is a vital new contribution, because the Fed plays a devastating role in undermining the ability of American individuals and families to make ends meet on an ongoing basis. Too often, people find that it's harder and harder to do, but they don't know why it's happening. Many even think that the free market is to blame, when in fact free enterprise isn't the problem. The ability of the bankers to milk the American economy in order to line their own pockets at the expense of all other Americans is a major problem that sorely needs to be addressed. Hopefully, this new website will aid in addressing it.
